CANADIAN ARTIST JEFF WEIR
“Silence descends on the lake, a silver of moon deflected on the surface,. The pines are silhouetted against the pale yellow sky, no birds sing and I’m at peace, JEFFREY DAVISON WEIR was born in Burlington, Ontario and raised in Tweed.
His grandmothers and mother provided him with an important cultural environment especially in art. He attended Loyalist College, Kingston, majoring in Graphic Design an is presently employed as a cabinet maker in Toronto.
He is always moved by the beauty of the landscape in the rural and wilderness areas especially the Canadian shield. He is also impacted greatly by the Group of Seven. Now 55, Jeff’s art has matured especially in acrylics. He has presented his work at Bon Echo Provincial Park, Napanee and Tweed’s “Art in the Park” where it was well received.
His fervent wish is that, through is art, he can inspire other artists or at the very least provide a true appreciation of the lakes, rivers and rock of our great province.
